OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — A deputy with the Osceola County Sheriff's Department is receiving praise across the internet after an image of him comforting a dog hit by a car went viral.

Deputy Josh Fiorelli used his jacket to cover the dog, while he rubbed it on the head.

According to WFTV, the dog is being cared for at the Osceola County Animal Shelter and is expected to fully recover.

"It never hurts a human to be kind to an animal. Well done," one Facebook user commented.

This photograph is amazing. All of us need more wonderful stories like this these days," another comment said. "Officer Fiorelli, you're a magnificent human being. This gesture alone proves that."
