A recall has been issued for a packaged salad sold in Florida after a dead bat was found inside a bag.

Fresh Express issue a recall for a limited number of cases of Organic Marketside Spring Mix. The salads were sold in a clear container with the production code G089B19 and best-if-used-by date of April 14th, 2017.

The recall was issued after a dead bat was found in a package of salad purchased in Florida.  Two people ate the salad before the bat was found in the package

The recalled salads were sold at Walmart stores across the Southeastern region of the United States.

The Centers of Disease control and Prevention (CDC) could not rule out from lab testing if the bat had rabies.

People who have eaten the recalled salad and did not find animal material are not at risk and do not need to contact the health department. The CDC does recommend that anyone who ate the recalled salad and found animal material should contact the health department for evaluation.
