Police in California need help in getting a little girl back to Florida after her mom died Christmas Day.

The Livermore Police Department, the Livermore Police Officer's Association, and The Livermore Pleasanton Fire Department are trying to raise enough money to get 6-year-old Karma back home.

On Christmas Day, Karma's mom died after suffering a medical emergency related to a pre-existing condition. The 39-year-old was taken to a hospital, where she passed away.

Mom & daughter recently relocated to California from Florida.

Karma was temporarily placed with a foster family until her grandmother could get to California from Florida. During this time, LPD Officers and LPFD Firefighters learned that Karma was unable to celebrate Christmas, since her mom fell ill in the early hours of Christmas morning.

Livermore police and fire personnel bought Christmas gifts for Karma, and delivered them to her on December 26, 2015.

To help Karma and her family, LPD and LPFD started a "GoFundMe" account to raise money for funeral expenses and transportation expenses to get Karma and her mother's body back to Florida.
