Firefighters helped rescue three people from a burning home on Tuesday night. Unfortunately, one resident did not survive the fire.

Tampa Fire Rescue received a call at 9:48 p.m. of a fire at 4515 North 41st Street. When crews arrived on scene they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the center of the single-story wood house.

Firefighters began a search of the interior of the rectangular home, which contained three separate units.

Crews accounted for the tenants living in the two end units and found an adult man inside the center one. Paramedics report that man suffered fire-related injuries and died at Tampa General Hospital.

It took firefighters over twenty minutes to get the fire under control.

The American Red Cross is helping the adults who lived in the end units find a place to stay.

Fire investigators are attempting to determine what sparked the fire. At this time, the investigation indicates there were no signs of foul play. The fire was brought under control by 10:10 p.m. on Tuesday.
