Bystander shot in Tarpon Springs neighborhood

TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. - Tarpon Springs Police are investigating a shooting Tuesday night that left one person injured.

Officers responded to the intersection of Disston Avenue and Martin L. King Jr. Blvd. at approximately 9:45 p.m. to reports of a shooting. They encountered a chaotic scene with many people running from the area.

Police later discovered a bystander had been shot and was driven in a private vehicle to Florida Hospital/North Pinellas.

The victim was treated at the hospital for a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Detectives are working to determine a motive for the shooting and who the gunman is. So far officers have made no arrests in the case.
