A Lakeland High School student with special needs is accused of sexually assaulting three children, ages two, four and five.

Alexander Ordonez, 19, is behind bars in the Polk County Detention Center. After nearly a month of investigating, detectives arrested the teenager on Tuesday.

On May 12, detectives with the Polk County Sheriff's Department began an investigation involving allegations of lewd molestation and sexual battery.

The mother of the four and five year old children told detectives she had left her children in the living room of the home, watching TV. When she came to check on them, her two kids were adjusting their underwear and the two-year-old child was un-clothed, according to the affidavit.

According to the affidavit, when the mother asked what was going on, one of the kids said "Alex was being nasty."

The mother told detectives Ordonez is "mentally handicapped" and she was not sure if something happened, but wanted to be safe about it. She brought her children to the hospital.

Detectives later interviewed the four and five-year-old children. According to the affidavit, one of the children told detectives Ordonez pulled her underwear down but she pulled them back up. She then said he exposed himself to her and sexually assaulted her.

The other child said Ordonez took her clothes "down" and was sitting on the couch. She then told detectives she was sitting on Ordonez and he hurt her, sexually assaulting her. She also told investigators Ordonez made her touch him, according to the affidavit.

Investigators now believe Ordonez had sex with both the four and five year old kids and forced the two year old to touch him, according to the affidavit.

Ordonez is listed on the affidavit as an 11th-grade student at Lakeland High School.

He is now charged with three felony counts, including lewd molestation and sexual battery.
