On Tuesday, 19 foster children from Hillsborough County got to go before a judge to finalize the adoption with their new forever families.

Hillsborough County took part in National Adoption Day at the George E. Edgecomb Courthouse in Tampa.

One of those kids, is two year old Layla.

Jennifer and Eric Adams have already adopted two other little girls.

"We were just planning on two, but things happen."

The couple unable to have children on their own, knew they wanted to try fostering a child.

Layla, has lived with the Adams as a foster child since she was two months old.

According to Eckerd Kids, a nonprofit for child and family service organizations, there are 60 kids in Hillsborough County ready for adoption.

However, 41 of them are in their teen years.

The organization says teenagers require a different level of commitment, and are in need of forever homes too.
