The shelters open at approximately 6 p.m., accept guests all night long, and close the following morning at approximately 6 a.m. Shelter guests are provided a hot evening meal, a warm safe place to spend the night, and breakfast the following morning.

American Red Cross is opening cold weather shelters beginning at 6 p.m. this evening. If no arrivals by 11:59 p.m., the shelter will close.

First Presbyterian Church - 16 N 3rd Street, Lake Wales
The Salvation Army in Lakeland, only provides shelter for families with children. Any family (single mother with children, single father with children, married couples with children) will be accommodated in the shelter with cots. Dinner will be provided for families who check in by 5 p.m. This shelter will accept families into the night. Morning check-out is 7:30 a.m. The Salvation Army Center of Hope is located at 830 N. Talbot House in Lakeland, in partnership with the Salvation Army, also provides cold night accommodations to singles (men and women). The Talbot House is located in Lakeland at 814 N. Kentucky Ave. For questions about this shelter please call 863-687-8475.

Pasco County Transportation provides service to cold weather shelters via routes 14, 21, 30 free of charge during normal operating hours. Riders should tell the driver when boarding they are en route to a cold weather shelter.
In addition, Windmoor Healthcare is offering free cab service to anyone in need of a lift to the various cold weather shelters in Pasco once the temperature falls below 40. To utilize this free service, please call Windmoor Healthcare at 727-548-5733.
