Tampa police officers find missing 12-year-old girl safe

TAMPA, Fla. - UPDATE: Tampa police have located 12-year-old Tatianna Bonner safe. She was spotted by a Hartline bus driver in the Hyde Park area.

Previous report:

Tampa police officers are searching for a missing 12-year-old girl who did not return from school Wednesday afternoon.

Police say Tatianna Marie Bonner was last seen wearing a red polo shirt, khaki pants, black leather jacket, black Nike shoes, carrying a purple and black backpack.

Tatianna takes the bus after school from Roland Park Middle Magnet to a family friend's house and usually arrives around 4 p.m.  When she didn't arrive, the family friend called Tatianna's father, who left work to look for her.

Around 6:30 p.m., the girl's father notified police and officers have been searching the area by air and by ground with patrol and bloodhounds.

Police say that although this isn't her typical behavior, family members think there's a chance she could have run away.

Police are concerned for her safety and ask that you call police if you see Tatianna.
