TFR: Overnight fire in Sulphur Springs is arson

Someone broke into a Sulphur Springs home early Friday morning and deliberately set a fire, according to Tampa Fire Rescue.

Rescue crews responded to a fully involved structure fire at 8208 N 9th St. around 2:30 a.m.

The family was not home, but two adults and three children were displaced. Red Cross was dispatched to assist.

Investigators determined that an unknown suspect, or suspects, illegally entered the home and ignited a fire in a bedroom and fled undetected.

Damage to the home and its contents is estimated at $90,000.

The Fire Marshal requests anyone with information contact the Fire Marshal's office at (813) 274-7000 or provide anonymous tips at www.tampagov.net/arsontips. Rewards of up to $2,500 or more are available for information leading to the identification of persons involved in arson fires.
