Man injured, 3 dogs killed in Tampa house fire

TAMPA - A man was in critical condition after fire broke out in a Sulphur Springs home Tuesday morning.  Three dogs were found dead inside the house, according to Tampa Fire Rescue.

Fire crews arrived on scene around 6:15 a.m.  Light smoke was seen coming from the home in the 8400 block of North 16th Street.

The victim is identified as 30-year-old Terrence W. McGriff.  He was taken to Tampa General Hospital.

Firefighters forced their way in and found McGriff unconscious several feet from the front door.  During the search for other victims, rescuers found the three dogs.
