TAMPA, Fla. - When you work in a pizza shop on Halloween - "busy" is an understatement.
Thursday night, phones were ringing off the hook at Sally O'Neal's pizza on South Howard Ave.
"May I please put you on hold," Christina Sanchez repeated over and over.
Halloween is traditionally one of Sally O'Neals biggest nights, second only to Gasparilla.
According to store manager Julian Conner, sales are expected to triple a typical Thursday night.
"We'll probably be pretty busy all the way until close," Conner said. "Every year I'm always like, alright I'm bringing even more people on next year, and of course a year later I underestimate again."
Nationally, according to
Restaurant.com, the top five selling days for pizza include Halloween, Super Bowl Sunday, the night before Thanksgiving, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
