Police in Bradenton have issued an alert after a man allegedly held out a teddy bear and spoke to a young girl, before leaving the area after a parent approached him.
BRADENTON, Fla. - Police in Bradenton have issued an alert after a man allegedly held out a teddy bear and spoke to a young girl, before leaving the area after a parent approached him.
According to Bradenton Police, officers responded to the 1800 block of 23rd Ave. W. around 7 p.m. Friday after receiving a report of the adult male's suspicious activity.
The juvenile was playing hear her home when she was approached by a white adult male who is described as being approximately 55 to 65 years old, with no facial hair and a bald spot on his head.
The man allegedly held out the Teddy bear and spoke to the girl.
"A parent of the juvenile observed what was taking place and started to approach the subject at which time he drove off," according to a police statement.
The vehicle is believed to be a grey Mercury Grand Marquis.
Police have not called the incident an attempted abduction or called the man a suspect in a crime, but do want to speak with him.
The incident was not reported to the public by Bradenton Police until Sunday night.
