SARASOTA, Fla. — A 14-year-old in Sarasota is facing attempted second-degree murder charges after a shooting on Wednesday night.
Police say the teenager, who ABC Action News is not naming due to their age, shot a 16-year-old boy around 9 p.m. in the 1700 block of 23rd Street. The victim was shot twice and is expected to survive, police say.
According to officers, witnesses who were speaking with the victim in a driveway said the suspect walked up and started shooting. They were arrested on Thursday without incident and charged with attempted second-degree murder.
Police say the victim and suspect know each other. They are asking anyone with information to call Detective Adam Morningstar at 941-263-6838 .
