POLK COUNTY, Fla. — The body of a 72-year-old man who was reported missing last Tuesday was found on Monday morning, deputies say.
Concepcion Labiera lived with his daughter and was last seen at 615 Green Dr. in Poinciana around 3:30 p.m. Monday. His daughter said he had Parkinson's disease and dementia.
When she realized he wasn't in the house, she called Polk Sheriff's Office. He has wandered away before but had always been found shortly after.
His body was located by the Polk County Sheriff's Office helicopter unit that was actively searching for him. He was found in a densely wooded area approximately 1,000 yards northeast of his home on Green Drive in Poinciana, in unincorporated Osceola County.
PCSO Agricultural Unit deputies using specialty vehicles were able to get to him, with direction from the helicopter pilot above.
He was positively identified by the clothing and jewelry he was wearing. His family has been notified.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine his exact cause of death.
