Viewings set for Lakeland Deputy Joseph Robbins killed in crash

LAKELAND, Fla. - Preliminary autopsy results have been released on the day people will gather to remember Polk County Sheriff's Deputy Joseph "Shane" Robbins.
According to the Polk County Medical Examiner, a medical episode did not cause Robbins to crash.
Robbins was on duty when he was found unresponsive in his marked cruiser on Bomber Road in Bartow Friday morning. Rescuers responded after someone heard the crash and called 911. Robbins was pronounced dead at a hospital.
The public will have the opportunity to join law enforcement officers in mourning is death on Monday.
The Polk County Sheriff's Office says a private viewing for friends and family of Deputy Joseph "Shane" Robbins will be held Monday afternoon at the First Baptist Church at the Mall, located at 1010 East Memorial Boulevard in Lakeland, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
A viewing for the public and law enforcement officers will follow and extend into the evening, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
A memorial service and a ceremony honoring Robbins' law enforcement service will be held at First Baptist Church at the Mall Tuesday.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
