Two men are injured and police are looking for those responsible after a double shooting at a Pinellas Park residence.
Police say it happened at about 6 a.m. Thursday at a home in the 5900 block of 66th Terrace. Dispatchers received a 911 call from a man saying he was shot and asking for help.
One victim was shot once in a "lower extremity" and the second man sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Both were taken to the hospital and at last check, stable.
Meanwhile, the suspects in the case reportedly fled the scene in a vehicle. Their identities are unknown at this time.
"We believe this house was targeted from the information we received and we don’t believe there’s a danger to the public at this time," said Pinellas Park Police Sgt. Roxanne Pohl.
Police spent about 8 hours collecting and bagging up potential evidence. They said narcotics are believed to be involved.
"We have kids all over running ht neighborhood and playing and to know that that violence can be there it’s surprising it really is. it’s normally a pretty quiet neighborhood for the most part, other than children," said neighbor Jennifer Jacoby.
Some neighbors said the crime was concerning.
"I know there are a lot of shootings these days but when it’s right up the street from your house I think it’s time to move on," said neighbor Susan Paulson.
Detectives are now working to determine the circumstances behind the shooting.
