Police: Man high on a cocktail of drugs stabs CVS Pharmacy worker

LARGO, Fla. - A CVS Pharmacy employee was ambushed and stabbed inside a Largo store early Monday morning.

Largo Police said, Lorenzo Guerrero, 22, entered the store on East Bay Drive wearing a mask and began stabbing an employee.

The employee, Donald McKay, 68, suffered multiple non-life threatening stab wounds and was rushed to Bayfront Medical Center.

According to a release, Guerrero ran from the store and left his vehicle in the parking lot.  Police located him several minutes later and arrested him.

Investigators said Guerrero was on a dangerous cocktail of cocaine, synthetic drugs, and Four Loko beverages and could not provide a reason for his actions.

Guerrero is jailed in Pinellas County and charged with attempted felony murder and attempted burglary.

Detectives said he is also suspected of an attempted burglary at the Fairway Convenient Store on Belcher Road.  That happened minutes before the CVS attack.
