Man injured in Pinellas Park shooting dies from gun wound to abdomen, officials investigating

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. - A man injured in a Pinellas Park shooting early Friday morning died from his injuries, according to a police report.

The victim, 24-year-old Gerald Way, was in front of a home on the 5000 th block of 69 th Ave N, talking with several people inside of a vehicle when one of the occupants shot him.

Way was shot in the stomach and taken to Northside Hospital by friends.

He was then taken to Bayfront Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators are interviewing witnesses and following up with leads in the case.

No further information is being released at this time.
