Fort DeSoto Park closed, boil water notice in place

FORT DESOTO PARK, Fla. - Pinellas County Department of Environment and Infrastructure have issued a mandatory boil water advisory for Fort DeSoto Park.

There was a reported potable water issue in southern Tierra Verde and Fort DeSoto Park.

Fort De Soto Park will remain closed on Monday, Feb. 3.

Further investigations are being done to determine if water service is being affected to homes in Tierra Verde.

Contaminated water can cause nausea, headaches and diarrhea as well as other similar symptoms.

Officials will continue to collect water samples to monitor the situation. The boil water notice will be in place for a minimum of 48 hours.
