ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Feeding Tampa Bay, Healthy St. Pete and Goodwill-Suncoast are teaming up to roll out a Mobile Market that functions as a “pop-up style" grocery store to bring nutritious foods to areas that are under-served and impacted by barriers like food costs, mobility, transportation and language.

The idea is to combat food deserts in Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties, where people may not have access to groceries.

Everything inside the "My Mobile Market" is priced at less than $2 an item and one bag of produce is given to each person free of charge. The mobile market moves to all different neighborhoods/communities that don't have nearby grocery stores.

The Mobile Market was part of the “big idea” grant, awarded to innovative, collaborative projects that address basic needs such as hunger and housing in Tampa Bay.
