TAMPA, Fla. — A United States Attorney announced the unsealing of an indictment charging eight members of a drug trafficking organization. The offenses were related to the distribution of cocaine and heroin.
According to the Department of Justice (DOJ), the investigation targeted drug traffickers that operated an open-air drug market in the Robles Park Housing Community in Tampa.
Law enforcement officers seized around 2.5 kilos of cocaine and around $52,000, the DOJ said.
The investigation was a partnership between the United States Attorney's Office, DEA, Tampa police, the ATF, the FBI, Florida Highway Patrol and Lakeland police.
