A Spring Hill family says it's a miracle that none of them were hurt after a car crashed through their rental home.

Sadly the driver, 86-year-old Domingo Rivera who just lives down the street suffered a medical emergency which caused his car to barrel down the street crashing through the front of the home.

"My neighbor drove by and about a minute later I heard boom," said Brian D. a neighbor who lives nearby and preferred not to give his last name.

Brian says he saw the car go through the front of the home and ran in to try and help.

"I was on the phone with 9-1-1, and said I don’t care, it's my buddy, I’m going in," said Brian.

Brian did what he could to help his neighbor but Rivera was taken to the hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

The family who lives in the home just moved out last week but Marlyne Castano says she had planned this morning to come over to clean with her young son.

"That was going to be the hangout spot for the kids when we were going to be cleaning," said Castano.

But visiting with a friend held her up and seeing a car nearly all the way through the bedroom where her children would’ve been playing was a lot to take in.

"To come to realize that he could’ve been in there when that happened because it just happened a couple of hours ago. God was so faithful, he’s always so faithful," said Castano.

The family says they are very sad about the driver but also grateful that no one else was hurt.
