CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. - A Hernando County teacher has been charged for a second time with having sex with a minor.
According to an affidavit, Cynthia Lynn Herr, 35, performed various sex acts with a juvenile male.
Hernando County deputies arrested and charged her on Sept. 23. She bonded out.
On Tuesday, Citrus County deputies went to her Citrus County home and arrested her a second time.
Authorities received word that Herr had made inappropriate contact with the victim via text and Facebook.
The victim was interviewed and eventually admitted to the affair, which he said took place in Hernando County.
After being told of her rights, Herr admitted to engaging in sex acts with the victim in her van in Pasco, Citrus and Marion counties and in a motel in Hernando County, according to the affidavit.
She is charged with four counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor in that case. The new charges also involve unlawful sexual activity , which is a felony.
Herr was a school teacher in Hernando County, teaching ESE students at John D. Floyd K-8 school in Brooksville.
According to deputies, Herr told a co-worker that she was having an intimate relationship with a 16-year-old. Detectives opened a criminal investigation after the co-worker reported the information to school administrators, which is required by law.
Investigators spoke to the 16-year-old male student, who confirmed that he and Herr were involved in a consensual, intimate relationship.
Detectives interviewed Herr on Monday, and she admitted to taking the student to a motel and having sex with him at least four times throughout the day on August 24.
