Hernando County deputies say two teens committed 14 acts of criminal mischief

HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla - Two Hernando County teens are now facing 14 counts of criminal mischief after deputies say they went on a crime spree Saturday night.

Deputies say the teens admitted to sneaking out of their homes and spray painting offensive language and images on multiple garage doors, mailboxes and streets signs.

The vandalism occurred in the area of Jasbow Junction, Calico Warbler Avenue and Desert Sparrow Avenue in Weeki Wachee.

According to an arrest report, the teens told deputies they targeted some homes due to prior altercations with the residents that live there.

One of the teens apparently showed deputies every location that was vandalized.

ABC Action News is not naming the two boys because they are juveniles.

The estimated damaged done is $1,000.

According to deputies, all but two of the victims declined prosecution.

Each teen was charged with one count of criminal mischief.

They were transported to the jail and later released to their parents.
