ESTES PARK, Colo. — A bear broke out of a Colorado home like the "Kool-Aid man" on Saturday night, after the smell of trash attracted it inside, the police department says.

"Upon officer's arrival, said bear forcibly breached a hole in the wall like the "Kool-Aid Man" and made it's escape," police wrote on Facebook.

It's not clear how the bear got into the home, but police say it was attracted by the smell of garbage.

Wildlife officials in Colorado urged residents to stay safe and lock their doors.

"For your safety, and the lives of these bears, PLEASE close and lock ALL windows and doors to your house and vehicles. Make it a routine to check everything is closed up before you go to bed or leave the house to do errands," they wrote in part. "Please do your part to keep bears wild. Bears are extremely smart, which means we all have to be too. Sometimes it’s literally as easy as a push of a button or flick of a lock."

No one was injured in the incident. We can't say the same for the wall.
