Southwest Florida Eagle Cam Update: Parent eagles, Ozzie and Harriet and two eaglets doing fine

FORT MYERS, Fla. - For those may have forgotten, or didn't know, some very captivating live video is available out of Fort Myers near Bayshore Road. Two eaglets hatched earlier this month and we've been following their progress.

The first egg was laid on November 26 and hatched on January 1.  The second egg was laid on November 29 and hatched on January 3.

The parents are named Ozzie and Harriet and their nest has been on the property in a slash pine tree now known as Eagle Landing since 2006-2007.  Five other chicks have grown up in the nest since 2008.

We've been watching and it's highly addictive.

By our observations, Harriet is a great mom, and the chicks are growing fast.

As best we can tell, morning feeding time occurs around 9:00 - 9:30.

We've see Ozzie a few times, but 99 percent of the time, it's Harriet watching over the babies. We've also seen plenty of seafood in the nest  for the eaglets to dine on.

According to the Ustream page, the eagles are expected to remain at the nest, which is part of a state monitoring program, until April or May.

As one person tweeted, "this is pretty awesome."  See it in the video player below or follow this link:
