TAMPA BAY, Fla. — Fourth of July is all about celebrating America's independence with fireworks. And while lighting up sparklers with your family and friends can be fun, and a great photo opportunity, there comes a time to clean up the trash after the celebration.
Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful is asking Tampa Bay residents to participate in their After the Fireworks Cleanup effort to protect the "waterways from becoming an explosion of unsightly litter."
The volunteer opportunity will take place on Thursday, July 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at the following three locations:
- Courtney Campbell Causeway – 7616 W Courtney Campbell Causeway, Tampa, FL 33607
- Cypress Point Park – 5620 W Cypress St, Tampa, FL 33607
- Picnic Island Park – 7409 Picnic Island Blvd, Tampa, FL 33616
Volunteers are encouraged to take sunscreen, a hat or sunglasses, closed-toed shoes, and a reusable water bottle. Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful will provide the garbage bags, gloves, water, and a promotional item (while supplies last).
