5 things you need to know happening in Florida on Friday, March 29

TAMPA - Here are five things you need to know happening in Florida on Friday, March 29.

(1) President Obama in Miami

President Obama will be in South Florida on Friday.

Mr. Obama will travel to PortMiami where he will tour a tunnel project. While at the port, the President is scheduled to talk about ways to create jobs and strengthen the economy by investing in infrastructure projects.

The trip comes the same day the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity releases the Florida's unemployment numbers for February.

Last week the FDEO announced the state's unemployment fell to 7.8 percent in January, it's lowest level in more than four years.

The President is scheduled to make his economic address at the port at approximately 2:00 p.m.

(2) IKEA umbrella giveaway

IKEA Tampa wants to prepare you for April showers. On Friday the store will be giving away umbrellas at two locations in Tampa.

The giveaway is part of IKEA's national Random Acts of Life Improvement campaign which is aimed to delight people with tokens of appreciation to improve their everyday lives.

According to the Tampa store's official Twitter account, @IKEA_Tampa, the umbrellas will be given away at 10:00 a.m. in Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park in downtown Tampa and at 10:30 a.m. at Lowry Park Zoo.

(3) Easter Bunny at Florida Aquarium

The Easter Bunny wants you to hop down to the Florida Aquarium on Friday for a special underwater appearance.

The SCUBA-certified East Bunny will be diving in the aquarium's Coral Reef Gallery at 11:00 a.m. and 3:15 p.m.

In addition, The Florida Aquarium will host an Underwater Easter Egg Hunt where guests will have the opportunity to search exhibits for Easter eggs hidden by the Bunny.

For an additional cost, attendees can enjoy a special Easter Picnic in the Explore A Shore Pavilion.

(4) Florida Gulf Coast University vs. University of Florida

Cinderella, also known as the Florida Gulf Coast University Eagles, hopes the slipper can fit at least one more time on Friday night.

The FGCU men's basketball team, in the first NCAA appearance, will play the Florida Gators on Friday night at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas.

The Eagles are the first 15th seed to ever make the Sweet Sixteen. They busted many NCAA brackets after upsetting Georgetown and San Diego State.

The Gators, who were regular season SEC champions, are heavy favorite for tonight's game.

ABC Action News' Tom Korun is in Dallas and will have live reports on the game during our 11:00 p.m. newscast.

Tonight's game is scheduled to begin at 9:57 p.m.

(5) New Jersey Devils vs. Tampa Bay Lightning

The Tampa Bay Lightning hope to begin at winning streak when they take on the New Jersey Devils at the Tampa Bay Times Forum on Friday night.

New coach Jon Cooper watched the Bolts beat the Buffalo Sabres 2-1 from an executive suite on Tuesday night. Tonight Cooper will be on the bench for the game.

The Devils (15-11-7) are fighting to remain in the playoff hunt. New Jersey lost their last game to Ottawa in a shootout after winning the two games before that.

It might not be an easy game for the Lightning. Tampa Bay has lost eight of the last nine games against the Devils at the Forum.

The opening faceoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. For more information, visit lightning.nhl.com.
