Mark Vittoe the guitarist from Jam Jones band passed away rapidly after a late diagnosis of cancer. His passing at 48, shocked band members, family and friends. Mark lived a life centered on his job at Master Building Supply in Tampa, the band and his beloved children. Mark’s concern in his last days was what would happen to his 14, year old son Tyler who now would be fatherless. Jam Jones bandleader, Adam Landry assured Mark that his musician brothers will look after him. Landry noted, “Curtis Gray, Lew Levine, Luis Alicea, James Donaldson but I also consider every musician performing as adopting Tyler would be an honorary uncle along with my fellow co-host Shawn Lowery and the MC for the event Tim Egleston”.   Mark passed away on May 11th, he was 48. Adam Landry stated, “ I felt that we had to do something to raise money for Tyler’s support. So we decided to hold a benefit concert on August 5th, which would have been Mark’s 49th birthday. We contacted Smokin 19 and they graciously not only donated the venue but also are donating 25% of food and drink sales to this cause. Many of Tampa Bay’s most popular performers stepped up to contribute their services such as the Greg Billings Band, Jeriko Turnpike, Jeremy Thomas, Umbra Luna and Jam Jones.  Landry said, when ask to perform Greg Billings said without hesitation “ Count me in brother, I’ll make it work”. McLean Mannix of Jeriko Turnpike too was eager to join in the cause, as were all the other performers.  Adam Landry said of the Tampa Bay music community, “ We are a brotherhood here and we all support each other in a time of need”, Tyler may not have a father now but he has lots of uncles who love him and care about his future”

The Concert “Rock with Love” for cancer awareness” will be held on August 5th,,  3-10pm, at Smokin 19, 3080 34th St N Saint Petersburg, FL. Admission is FREE.
