Opera Tampa’s 2018-2019 concludes with Giacomo Puccini’s La Bohème, under the baton of Maestro Anthony Barrese. La Bohème will be presented in Morsani Hall on Friday, April 26 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, April 28 at 2 p.m.
A writer. An artist. A philosopher. A musician. Giacomo Puccini’s masterpiece about struggling bohemians in Paris defined a love-and-friendship genre that paved the way for RENT, Friends, The Breakfast Club and more. Scrambling to make ends meet, the friends and their lovers must resort to wits to get the resources they need to survive, haplessly falling in love along the way. Change comes, like the inevitability of winter, and forces the friends to find out what matters to them most. All hankies at-the-ready for this all-time favorite full of gorgeous duets and ensemble arias about simple people living the epic adventure of life.
