Nueva Cantina, known as “That Mexican Place,” will celebrate Day of the Dead on Friday, Nov. 2, from 4 p.m. to 10p.m., at both locations in St. Petersburg and South Tampa, according to Louis Spetrini, managing partner.
Day of the Dead (Dia de Muertos) is a traditional Mexican holiday celebrated primarily in the Central and South regions. It is a public holiday that focuses on the remembrance of family members and friends who have passed away.
Nueva Cantina’s St. Petersburg location will feature a pig roast and buffet, in addition to beer and margarita tents and games, raffles, give-aways, face painting, street performers and a live DJ. The $20 entry fee includes all food. The beverage tents will feature house margaritas ($6), as well as Hornitos and Cazadores Reposado premium tequilas; Corona, Corona Light and Modelo beers will also be spotlighted. DJs will be Xspek, L Mo and guests. Valet parking will be available.
The South Tampa location will offer its full regular menu, in addition to a DJ (3 p.m. to 9 p.m.), raffles and drink specials, house margaritas, in addition to Hornitos and Cazadores Resposado premium tequilas; Corona, Corona Light and Modelo beers will also be on the menu. DJs will be Blake Blaze, L Mo and guests.
