Over the course of the season, viewers are introduced to eight individuals from across the country as the team of experts race against the clock to avert crises ranging from jail time to financial ruin and loss of property. Each two-hour episode takes an emotional, in-depth look at how both the team and families deal with a hoarding crisis of epic magnitude.
With years of experience in the extreme cleanup industry, both Paxton and Chalmers can provide practical tips for controlling your own mess, how to identify hoarding tendencies as well as what to do if a loved one is holding on to too many possessions.
Cory Chalmers is the President and founder of Steri-Clean, Inc., a nationwide franchise with over 30 offices which provide extreme cleaning services throughout the country. He has 25 years of experience in the biohazard and hoarding remediation industry, 20 plus years in EMS as an EMT, paramedic, and firefighter, retiring as a Fire Captain in Orange County, Ca in 2011. You may recognize Mr. Chalmers from numerous television appearances including his regular role as host and expert cleaner on the Emmy nominated TV series “Hoarders.”
Matt Paxton is one of the top hoarding experts in the country and a featured cleaner on the hit television show "Hoarders". Paxton started cleaning out houses after his father, step-father and both grandfathers died in the same year and are the reason Matt has been working with families struggling with hoarding and downsizing for almost 20 years. Matt appears regularly as a public speaker, television host and radio personality helping families find the upside of decluttering. He lives in Virginia with his family.
