Dreaming the Marsh begins in the fictional town of Opakulla, Florida, where an upscale condominium development has just been approved after years of opposition from
environmentalists who wanted to save the marshland. Shortly after the dedication ceremony, a mysterious sinkhole opens, swallowing the site of the planned development, a large lake, and several miles of interstate. Will the sinkhole take over the entire town? Or will people begin to understand what Mother Nature is so angry about?
