ER departments across the U.S. see more than 250,000 toy-related injuries each year due to
poisoning, choking or intestinal issues. Families need to be aware of certain toys that
have high levels of chemicals, toys with magnets or batteries and toys that can pose a choking
hazard. If you’re young child is choking, you should perform the Heimlich maneuver per American
Heart Association guidelines.
