Missing child alert canceled for 1-year-old, 8-year-old last seen in Stuart

UPDATE — The children have been located, according to the Citrus County Sheriff's Office.

STUART, Fla. — A missing child alert has been issued for for a 1-year-old and an 8-year-old last seen in Stuart.

Alan Phillips, 1, and Riddick Alexander, 8, are thought to be with their mother, 33-year-old Gitta Viteri-Andrade. Deputies believe Gitta may be armed with an unknown type of hand gun.

In the past, deputies say Gitta has made suicidal comments to the father of Alan, who is the one that reported his son missing.

The boys were last seen in the 600th block of SW Glen Crest Way.

Authorities say they may be traveling in a 2017 green Dodge Journey with the tag number HFWM53.

Alan is a white-Hispanic male, 2 feet 3 inches tall with brown hair and brown eyes. He weighs 35 pounds. Riddick is also a white-Hispanic male, 4 feet tall with brown hair and brown eyes. He weighs 60 pounds.

Gitta is a white-Hispanic female, 5 feet 10 inches tall with brown hair and brown eyes. She weighs 160 pounds.

Authorities say Gitta could be traveling in the direction of Jupiter.
