Pink Floyd tribute band says success is in attention to detail

World Tour comes to Clearwater Thursday

Pink Floyd hasn't toured in more than two decades.

But that’s where Brit Floyd comes in.

The tribute band touts its show as the closest fans will get to "experiencing the magnificence of a Pink Floyd show live.”

We talked with the show’s musical director, Damian Darlington via Skype as he got ready for a recent show in Kansas City.

Brit Floyd is scheduled to perform Thursday, June 14 at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater.

Darlington says Pink Floyd started a lot of the features we take for granted in concerts these days.

And it’s a big job to try and recreate everything they did.

That includes the trademark circular video screen, lightning, lasers and sound effects.

The band says on this summer’s tour, its “faithfully recreating the scale and pomp of the final 1994 Division Bell tour.”

The show includes a million dollar light show, inflatables, and theatrics.
