6 Delicious must-try margarita spots in Tampa Bay

Weather you like salt rims or sugar rims, sweet flavors or spicy flavors, on-the-rocks or frozen, here are some Tampa Bay spots you should check out for some delicious margaritas.

1. Red Mesa Cantina
Location: 128 3rd St S, St. Petersburg

Grab a seat at any of the four bars and check out their newest margarita—Diamond in the Rough, made with agave, fresh lemon juice, grapefruit liqueur, Maestro Dobel Diamante Tequila and a red wine floater. You can also grab a hand-crafted signature margarita and enjoy the views from the DeSanto Rooftop Bar on Thursdays through Sundays.

2. Green Lemon

Enjoy your margaritas by the 16-ounce, 24-ounce or 60-ounce glass a this SoHo spot! Get one frozen or on the rocks, and make it festive with a fresh strawberry, mango, peach or raspberry puree. And while you're there, take your margarita to the back and pose at the "I Didn't Call You, Tequila Did" phone booth.

3. Miguelitos

How about a Skinny Margarita with a side of infused Tequila? Miguelitos is home to Tampa’s only –5 degree Tequila Tap, filled with eight different fruit-infused tequilas. Miguelitos has also started selling margaitas to-go—get their specialty pre-mix and mini liquor bottles to take with you for $20 (makes 2 ½ margaritas).

4. Nueva Cantina

5. Rocco’s Tacos and Tequila Bar

Rocco’s Tacos is where you go when typical margarita flavors won’t cut it. Order a Black Diamond Rita, made with Maestro Dobel Diamante Tequila, black cherry purée, simple syrup, fresh lime juice and garnished with a black sea salt rim. Or go toward the slightly sweeter route with a Frida Rita, made with Mi Campo Blanco Tequila, Chinola Passion Fruit Liqueur, fresh squeezed lime juice, aqua fava, fresh mint and garnished with a Mexican Tajin salt rim.

6. Tequilas Taqueria & Tequila Bar

All margaritas are made with fresh lime juice, sweet and sour, Triple Sec and sweetened lime juice. A must-try is the Patron Watermelon Basil Margarita, made with muddled basil leaves and limes, Watermelon Pucker and watermelon syrup.

And if you are planning on going to Ybor for Fiesta Day this Saturday, Tequilas will be right in the middle of the action!
