Rescues in Action: A Husky Named Phoenix

Phoenix and his partner in crime (who has been adopted) were found trying to catch a farmer's chickens in South Florida. The gentleman was at Miami-Dade Animal Services when volunteers there told him if he dropped off these dogs they could be euthanized. While at the shelter, he called numerous people to try and take the dogs so they didn't go to the shelter.

One of the phone calls he made was to a fellow rescuer in South Florida. She convinced him to pay for one week of boarding for the dogs so she could find a rescue to take them. Husky Haven began working out transport plans to get the dogs out of boarding before the week was up. Three separate people helped drive the legs from South Florida to Clearwater to get these two guys here.  The dogs were filthy and underweight.

They have since been neutered, microchipped, and are now up to date on their shots. Luckily they were heartworm negative and did not have ehrlichia either. Phoenix is best suited for a single dog home but has done well with similar dogs recently. He is loving and affectionate. Now Phoenix is healthy and gorgeous and ready to be adopted!
