Emotions ran high as the remaining 15 ladies desperately tried to make a connection with Juan Pablo during episode three of "The Bachelor."
Cassandra's one on one date definitely made a splash. She was shocked when Juan Pablo drove them from dry land into the waves in a water car. After a day of fun in the sun, he made dinner. I was impressed to see him work so hard to put Cassandra at ease. As it turns out, an impromptu dance session was all she needed to relax. At the end of the night, she got a rose. Only time will tell if they have what it takes to go the distance.
The group date took place on Juan Pablo's second home, the soccer field. He was eager to show off his skills. Then it was time for a little friendly competition between the ladies. After a heated match, the women fought for alone time with him. This "Bachelor" junkie thought Nikki was a standout, but Sharleen ended up stealing the spotlight. I had to turn away as they shared a super awkward kiss in the middle of the field. Actually, I think awkward may be an understatement. It looked painful. So you know I had to cheer when he gave Nikki the rose. I have been a fan of hers from the start. I only hope she can continue to come out of her shell.
Trust was the focus of Juan Pablo's date with Chelsie. Their first stop, sampling of some of his favorite Venezuelan foods. Then it was time for the true test. I felt so uneasy as they prepared to bungee jump off a bridge. Understandably, Chelsie turned into a ball of nerves. To be honest, I don't know if I could do it. After a lot of reassurance, they made the tandem jump. And to top it off, they shared a kiss while hanging upside down. The evening ended with a candlelight dinner and a private concert from one of my favorite country singers, Billy Currington. No surprise, she received a rose.
The next morning the ladies were surprised to wake up and find Juan Pablo cooking breakfast. He hoped to catch them without any makeup. Renee came out like a champ, unashamed to mingle with him "au natural."
Then in a surprise twist, Juan Pablo cancelled the cocktail party and turned it into a pool party! But not everything went as planned. Kat drew a lot of attention to herself as she fought for his affection. The other ladies were not amused by her over the top flirtation. This "Bachelor" junkie was equally unimpressed.
Meanwhile, uncertainty and doubt filled Sharleen and Claire, and they both broke down. Fortunately, Juan Pablo was quick to comfort them.
During the rose ceremony, two ladies were sent home.
Now only Cassandra, Nikki, Chelsie, Andi, Renee, Kelly, Sharleen, Elise, Kat, Alli, Clare, Lauren, and Danielle remain to fight for Juan Pablo's heart.
It is clear tension is building between the ladies. You can be sure next week's episode will be filled with tears and lots of drama.
Be sure and tune in Monday at 8 p.m. on ABC Action News.
