Tampa Bay Idol Judge Sharon Reid-Kane

Sharon Reid-Kane serves as the Vice President of Education & Outreach at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, Florida. Fully responsible for all operational and programmatic aspects, she currently oversees 10 full-time administrative employees and 50+ adjunct arts instructors, teaching on the Ruth Eckerd Hall campus and throughout the Tampa Bay area. Under her leadership and strategic management, the department has celebrated reaching 35,000+ students of all ages and abilities annually with over 80,000 contact hours of high-caliber arts experiences.

Her contributions to the renovation and subsequent programming of the new Murray Theatre give local talent the opportunity to perform and develop their craft in an intimate and professional setting. Sharon also manages the Tampa Bay Grammy Museum®’s Music Revolution Project® each year, fostering the next generation of singer-songwriters and musicians. Throughout her career, she has been the recipient of several prestigious accolades, including the Cooperman-Bogue Award for service to children and families, and the President’s Service Award. She has served as the President of ACE of Pinellas County (Arts for a Complete Education), a panelist for South Arts, a featured writer/blogger for local and national publications such as “ArtsBlog”, and is a graduate of the Americans for the Arts leadership program. With a Master’s Degree in the Arts and Academic Interdisciplinary Education, she is devoted to fostering the next generation of non-profit and arts leaders. She shares her passion and speaks regularly at colleges and universities about choosing a non-profit career, and the value of mission-driven work. Her personal background includes years of appreciation, instruction and performance in all artistic genres - leading to a lifelong passion for the arts and arts education.
