TAMPA - A jury has been selected in the trial of a New Tampa mother accused of killing her two children.
Both sides have agreed on a 12 member panel and four alternates. It includes nine men and seven women.
Julie Schenecker is accused of killing her 16-year-old daughter and 13-year-old son in 2011. The 53-year-old is charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
The process took five days find 12 jurors and four alternates. Defense attorneys, prosecutors and Hillsborough County Judge Emmett Battles have questioned dozens of potential jurors.
Opening statements are expected to begin Monday at 8:15 a.m.

Many of the potential jurors expressed grief over the two children Schenecker is accused of murdering.
On Thursday, lawyers asked the potential jurors if they knew anyone with mental illness and how they felt about the insanity defense.
Schenecker's attorneys plan on using an insanity defense, saying the mother and military wife suffered from profound mental illness.
