Hoax bomb threat called into Tampa Police

A hoax bomb threat shutdown Tampa Police Department’s parking garage this afternoon.
An anonymous caller told Tampa Police dispatchers about 11:45 a.m. that a bomb had been placed in the men’s bathroom at the agency’s headquarters at 411 N. Franklin St., police said.
A search of the building turned up no suspicious devices. Officers discovered an unattended bag near the entrance of the department’s garage.
The agency used a bomb robot to open the bag, finding it empty.
The parking garage was reopened about 2:30 p.m.
