The ninth tropical depression of the season has formed in the Atlantic and will likely develop into Tropical Storm Issac later today, according to the National Hurricane Center.
The storm is expected to become a hurricane and some models indicate that it is headed in South Florida's path.
Tropical storm warnings have been issued for Dominica, Guadeloupe, Desirade, Les Saintes, Marie Galante, St. Martin, St. Kitts, Nevis, Antigua, Montserrat and Barbuda, The Associated Press reports.
Tropical storm watches have been issued for Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Vieques, Culbera, Saba, St. Eustatius, St. Maarten and the British Virgin Islands.
The storm is headed west at 20 to 25 miles per hour and is expected to reach the Leeward Islands by Wednesday.
