The warm-up is now leveling off with highs approaching 80. Couple more degrees next few days with plenty of sunshine. Highs in the lower 80s. Lows in the low to mid 60s.
The milder temperatures are courtesy of a northeast wind bringing milder Atlantic air into the peninsula. Those winds are gusty at times and are creating hazards for small boats.
Another result of the flow in from the east is increasing low-level moisture which will result in fast-moving isolated sprinkles and showers next few days. These will mainly impact inland counties closer to the source of the moisture but some may survive the peninsular trip and reach coastal counties as well.Read full story
