FORECAST: Plenty of sun and very little rain to start the work week

Florida's Most Accurate Forecast

TAMPA -

A beautiful star to the day! Expect mostly sunny skies for the first half of the day. In the afternoon, a few more clouds will build and there will be a slight chance for an isolated storm east of I-75 late in the day. Highs will be near 90 with heat indices in the mid to upper 90s.

Rain chances remain low through the next few days with highs remaining near 90.  Rain chances go back up to about 40% by Friday and into the weekend, but nothing looks like a washout.

TROPICS:

Hurricane Maria continues to move north well east of the U.S. It still is not expected to make a landfall in the U.S. over the next few days, but the NHC now has a tropical storm watch up for coastal North Carolina. Maria is forecast to stay well east, but the Outer Banks could be brushed by tropical storm force winds in a couple of days. By mid-week, it will begin to move east and head out to sea. Hurricane Lee is spinning out in the middle of the Atlantic and it poses no threat the land for the next week.
