Submitted: Tuesday, June 30, 2009 9:28 AM
FREEDOM FEST 2009 to be held in Pinellas Park on July 3rd and 4th.

One of Florida's fastest growing and most popular annual music festivals, FREEDOM FEST will be  in Pinellas Park this year. The  free two day community event will feature performances by over 14 national and regional  musical artists and a spectacular fireworks display to celebrate community, family, spirit and freedom. Due to the overwhelming success of last years festival, FREEDOM FEST has expanded to include a second day.

This year FREEDOM FEST will benefit the Post 911 Foundation, a Non-Profit Organization dedicated to honoring and assisting first responders and veterans of Military, Government, Police, and Firefighter communities, as well as other great Americans who have answered the call to duty and served our nation in the aftermath of 9/11.

Friday July 3rd will feature over 7 bands and is headlined 2002 Dove Award New Artist of the Year Nominee Big Daddy Weave. Other entertainment and activities include a variety of vendors, giveaways, and a spectacular fireworks display.

On Saturday July 4th FREEDOM FEST is sure to be the most patriotic celebration in the Bay Area. Entertainment and events include 7 live bands, a motorcycle rally, contests and giveaways, and a special tribute to the brave men and women from the Bay Area who serve our community. In attendance will be NYPD Detective Rich Miller: As a member of the NYPD's elite Emergency Services Unit, Detective Miller was one of the initial first responders of 9/11/01 and raised the iconic first American Flag on Ground Zero the day after to commemorate his fallen comrades that were still missing. FREEDOM FEST will truly be a unique and once in a lifetime experience for all that attend as the founders of the Post 911 Foundation Rich Miller and Scott Neil, unveil  footage of the first flag being raised on Ground Zero for the first time to the public. Similar to the memorable photo from Iwo Jima, this iconic video is the Post 911 era's symbol of freedom.

On Saturday July 4th, all men and women of any service organization will receive free refreshments as a small gesture of thanks.
