Tampa, FL   –    Hillsborough Community College, School of Visual and Performing Arts presents “Dance Ybor”, a new performance series showcasing local and international dance companies on the Mainstage Theatre in historic Ybor City.  The series includes work by Moving Current (Tampa), Claire Porter (NYC), Miro Dance Theare (Philadelphia) and Karen Fuhrman/ Grounded Aerial (NYC), as well as performances by the HCC Dance Program.  The series is funded by HCC Student Activities and is part of the 2009 Visual and Performing Arts Series at the Ybor City Campus.

The series opens on Friday, February 27th & Saturday, 28th at 7:30 pm, with Moving Current Dance Collective: Tampa Bay’s premier contemporary dance collective will grace the Hillsborough Community College Theatre stage with a collection of signature dance works from the past eleven years. Founding members and choreographers Erin Cardinal and Cynthia Hennessy with Katie Cole and guests, provide a program of athletic, exhilarating, at times… humorous and thoughtful dance works.

Tickets for Dance Ybor range in price from $5- $15 depending on the performance. Tickets are available at the door the evening of the performance.  To reserve tickets in advance you can email our box office at artstix@hccfl.edu.  Performances are Free to HCC Faculty, Staff and Students (with ID)

The Mainstage Theatre is located on the corner of Palm Ave and 14th Street in Historic Ybor City.
