KENNY ROGERS WORKS WITH AMERICA’S SECOND HARVEST OF TAMPA BAY AND GIBBS HIGH SCHOOL CHOIR AS PART OF HIS “CHRISTMAS AND HITS” TOUR.

As if “The Gambler” himself coming to Progress Energy Center for the Arts – Mahaffey Theater on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 8 PM wasn’t enough; Kenny Rogers will now be joined by America’s Second Harvest of Tampa Bay and Pinellas County Center for the Arts at Gibbs High School Choral Arts Ensemble.



Patrons are encouraged to buy their tickets, come early and bring a non-perishable food item to the Theater the night of the performance.  America’s Second Harvest of Tampa Bay will then distribute the donations to charitable organizations in the Bay area.



In addition to feeding the area’s hungry, your donation enters you into a drawing for a chance to meet with Kenny Rogers before he goes on stage the night of the performance, as well as win a “Christmas and Hits” prize package.



The PCCA choir, recognized leaders in choral music, will perform alongside Rogers at various points of the evening.  Led by conductor Derek Edward Weston, the ensemble has been rehearsing for weeks in anticipation of the big night. Says Weston, “The students and I are thrilled to be performing with such a musical legend!”



And who knows, one of the students might just become famous in the process.

Emmy award winning Sean Hayes of “Will and Grace” fame performed in one of Kenny Rogers Christmas and Hits Tours back in the day.
