Dale Mabry Highway is getting a $7.2 Million facelift

Two-year-long project will resurface Dale Mabry

TAMPA - A $7.2 million project is underway that will repair the concrete and asphalt surfaces of Dale Mabry Highway between Kennedy Boulevard and Hillsborough Avenue.

The Florida Department of Transportation says it evaluated Dale Mabry to determine which sections of the road will be removed and replaced, and which areas will be repaired only.

As part of the project, FDOT's contractor will repair damaged sidewalk ramps along both sides of Dale Mabry, and existing traffic signals/poles will be replaced with new ones at Tampa Bay Boulevard and at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard (near Raymond James Stadium).

Most of the roadway improvements, including lane closures, will occur at night due to the high volume of daytime traffic on Dale Mabry.

FDOT expects the project to be completed in the summer of 2014.
